Inspo Collection 5

Another addition to the Inspo Collection series!

Hope you have all been well 🙂

I have been back in full swing as of the last couple of weeks. Uni is back, work and my internship is still going. I have also been watching a lot of movies recently and trying to find new shows to watch (apart from Game of Thrones).

So here are my most recent favourites:

Patent material has a been a big trend recently which I’m really keen on, so I got my hands on a black patent skirt from Princess Polly. I love the A-line cut of the skirt and the zip down the middle. Most of all, I love that it has loops for a belt. Even though we’re still in winter, this skirt looks really cute paired with some sheer tights and an oversized coat.

I recently caved and got onto Netflix. Gypsy is a Netflix Original psychological thriller series based around the life of a successful therapist in New York whose life appears to be perfect. However, her life becomes more complicated as she develops inappropriate relationships with the people in her patients’ lives.

There are only 10 episodes up so far and I’m not too sure when or if it will continue. It’s the kind of show that keeps you on edge and it’s quite different to anything else I have seen to date.

Recently I discovered the brand Inika through my internship. They are a cruelty free and vegan make-up/beauty brand. The foundation brush has proven to be the perfect too when applying a more liquid-y foundation like the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth which I couldn’t apply well with my usual Real Techniques Foundation brush.

The Inika Foundation brush has a flat top and just the right amount of density. I don’t think it would apply thicker foundations as well, however it’s perfect for a lighter or more liquid-y foundation.

A new Netflix film starring Lily Collins, about a young woman dealing with anorexia nervosa. The visual aspects of the film can be quite confronting, with graphic imaginary that should have a trigger warning. To The Bongives a look inside the life of someone battling an eating disorder. Despite the serious topics covered in the film, there is an underlying humorous tone to the film making it much more realistic and relatable.

I rarely ever listen to podcasts, but this one has replaced my background music on a number of occasions. My Dad Wrote A Porno is a reading and commentary by Jamie Morton and his friends of the dirty/erotic novel, Belinda Blinked, written by Jamie’s father. Very cringe-worthy, but hilarious. (Click here to check it out)

I’ve gotten back into drawing/painting lately and my favourite thing to play around with is pigmented ink. Eckerley’s Art Supply Store on Franklin St in the Melbourne CBD was having a closing down sale a couple weeks ago, so I took advantage of it and picked up some different ink colours.

The Invisible Guest is a Spanish crime drama and thriller film directed by Oriol Paulo. It follows the life of a successful young businessman who is trying to prove his innocence for the murder of his lover. The film is set out as puzzle, with a series of flash-backs and retelling of the scenarios in the attempt to uncover the truth.

I’d love to hear about the things you guys have been loving recently, especially film or TV show recommendations!

Til next time xx
