Cold Melbourne Nights Outfit

Going out in cold weather can be a pain. I love deciding what to wear when I go out, but in winter, it becomes more of a hassle than anything else. I like to be cosy; the last thing I want is to be shivering the whole night.

So I came up with my go-to outfit combination for the cold weather: high-rise jeans, thigh-high boots, long sleeve top and a warm jacket.

My high-rise jeans are a staple for the colder months. They go with everything and can be dressed up or down. I recently also picked up this belt from ASOS with a round buckle which helps make the jeans look a little less casual and also ties in with the silver hardware on my jacket.

I don’t know what else would be warmer for your legs than wearing thigh-high boots over your pants. I love wearing thigh-high boots over jeans. Not only will your legs stay cosy, but it also elongates them and dresses up a pair of plain black jeans. The pair I’m wearing in the photos are from Dolls Kill. A dark purple, crushed velvet material which isn’t too in your face, but looks really cool against different lighting (and feels super soft). I find the heel on these a little too high for a long night, so I tend to wear them more if I’m just going out for dinner or drinks.

I always prefer wearing crop tops with my high-rise jeans. This top is a recent purchase from Princess Polly (original store: Motel Rocks). I have too many dark winter clothes and I wanted to find something a little brighter to break it up a little. It’s a red, off the shoulder top with long sleeves, made from a slinky and soft material. Even though it’s a long sleeve top, the lightweight material is perfect for being in doors as well so you don’t get too hot either.

Top: Princess Polly
Jeans: Abrand
Shoes: Dolls Kill
Jacket: White Fox Boutique
Choker: Disco Bead
