I feel like it’s been a while? Honestly, it’s because I’ve had my last lot of assessments due this week and….. I haven’t been as organised as I should have been. No changes there 😉
Here are some of the things I’ve been loving over the last few months. It’s been a while since I wrote one of these posts.
Diary of an Oxygen Thief
I finished reading this recently (very quickly, I might add). It’s by an anonymous author and received a lot of attention because of the first page. This short book is actually a diary of a man who went through alcoholism and as a result, enjoyed hurting woman (mentally). However, later down the track, when he becomes sober, goes through a life crisis and goes through a similar experience to what he used to do to women.
Holographic Laptop Case
Since I bought a new laptop some time in March, I also got myself a laptop case ’cause I literally take my laptop everywhere. I found it at typo and it’s got this holographic cover, some light purple material on the inside and a pocket on the outside.
Happy people on trains
I love people watching, especially on trains. For some reason though, it makes me really happy to see other people happy on the train. Most of the time, people are quite grumpy on public transport, especially during peek hours. So when I see people smiling, I just start wondering what’s going through their mind and in turn, I feel happy too.
Velvet Thigh Highs
I recently purchased a pair of thigh high boots from Dolls Kill. They are made of a muted purple, crushed velvet material, have a pointy toe and chunky heel. I love the colour and find them nice and warm for going out in Winter. Only issue is the heel height, but I’m happy to deal with it since I like them so much!
Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse
Okay, so I’m slightly obsessed with this series. I’ve watched it a couple times already in English and I also watched it in Spanish… It’s not like your typical, cheesy Barbie movies. It’s set up as a reality show, where the characters are actually all life size dolls and a lot of the humour comes from their doll-like nature. Oh and, you can watch it all on Youtube!
Rainbow Velvet Hippy Top
One of the latest additions to my wardrobe is the rainbow velvet crop top from Dolls Kill which has super flared sleeves too!
I don’t wear a lot of necklaces usually, but I really like chokers; especially statement chokers. My sister makes a lot of quirky jewellery pieces (especially chokers) and recently the one I’ve loved wearing the most is her fluro, rainbow flower choker (which you can see in the collage above). Her Instagram is @_discobead_ if you want to check out her stuff or her little Etsy shop.
An artist I discovered through Plastik Magazine. She is an American, multi-media and web-based artist. Her works are super bright and colourful and generally use a lot of different coloured lights for effects. You can check out her Instagram: @signepierce
Mochi Ice cream
Unfortunately we ate them all before I got to take my own photo. Mochi is a Japanese dessert which is a chewy rice cake stuffed with some sort of paste (usually red bean). The ice cream mochi is pretty much the same, but it’s stuffed with the ice cream version of the paste and it’s super yummy!
Dior and I
A documentary with a backstage look inside the Christian Dior Fashion House when Raf Simons took over the artistic director position. The documentary is filmed over eight weeks while Simons put together his first collection.
Aladdin: The Musical
I recently went to see the musical, Aladdin, at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne with my family. Even though I’ve never been a huge fan of musicals, Aladdin has always been one of my favourite Disney movies, so I was very excited to see it. It did not disappoint. The overall set up, props and costumes were absolutely amazing; vibrant and sparkly.
I’d love to hear what you’ve been loving recently, so feel free to comment below 🙂
Until next time xx
