It’s that time of year again where everyone is signing up to the gym, buying new fitness gear and cook books and feeling super motivated because they believe this is the year they’ll get healthier and more active. But give it month or so, and majority of those people are going to cancel their gym membership and fall back into the same behaviours as the year before.
Did you make any resolutions or goals for the year or did you decide to give them a rest this year? I used to make goals all the time, but honestly, a new year just doesn’t motivate me anymore. Why should I sit and make resolutions that I know I’ll break after a month. It’ll just make me feel shit.
Instead, I’m opting for the ‘one week at a time’ approach. I like planning my week in advance (roughly). It’s easier for me to see what kind of head space I’m in and how much I feel like I can get done. If it’s a good week, I’ll push myself to do extra, if not, I make sure I do what needs to be done so I still stay on track and feel productive.
I’m not saying I don’t have general goals. But I’m not going to promise myself to go to the gym 4 times a week, every week. Because, things come up, you might be having a bad day and you don’t want to feel even worse knowing that you missed one day at the gym (or whatever your goal is).
So, I went out last night for dinner. Major regrets on wearing pants and booties. I underestimated how hot it was because we had the air-conditioning on all day. Nonetheless, the top I wore was pretty flowy and backless, plus the restaurant we went to had the AC going too, so not all bad.
I’m wearing my favourite Abrand High-Rise jeans (which I finally had taken up) with my new-ish ASOS booties. My floral top is from Cotton On which I got it a couple years ago and my favourite new accessory is the red, fluffy, heart key ring that mum got me for Christmas.
Oh, and if you’re wondering where we ate (not that you can even see the food in the photo..looks like a blob), we went to Oriental Teahouse on Chapel St.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your week 🙂
